Three guys from Road Preppers, Samuel Adeoye, Nnamdi Nwanze and Ladi Ojora did an incredible job to try to solve the Lagos commute problem, especially for visitors. The built a public transport tracking system call Lara RP. This is my Road Preppers Lara RP – quick review.
The first thing you’ll notice when you go to www.lara.ng is its similar look to WhatsApp Web. They’re obviously more concerned about its functionalities than its appearance.
In other for it to work for you, you’d have to specify the FROM location and TO destination. Which means the system reads whatever you put after FROM as the starting location, and whatever you put after TO end destination.
There’s a location button beside the send button. It’s supposed to detect your current location and automatically input it as your starting location, but for some reason it didn’t work for me.
At the time of this review some of the fair rates have changed, and I’m guessing Lara RP will be update to reflect the current rates.
Overall, I think this is a very useful too. I like how descriptive the directions are. You can hardly go wrong with this app.
This is a very good product, and this is the kind of creativity we should support. I can tell it’s still work in progress and I can only expect the team at Road Preppers to improve on it.
I’m hoping there are plans to introduce an install-able mobile app version in the nearest future.
